This not-for-profit creative writing centre helps young people aged seven to 17 build their skills, confidence and creativity through creative writing workshops that aim to inspire even the most disengaged students.
“Students worked towards developing their imaginative writing skills and creating a unique story that gets bound to take home to share with their friends and family.”
Our executive director Lauren Sheargold was blown away when she attended the organisation’s ‘A Bug’s Eye View’ sessions at Plunkett Street Public School in inner Sydney. Each week for several weeks, Year 4 students worked on a short story told from the point of view of a bug.
Sheargold Foundation funding will enable Story Factory to work with an additional 800 marginalised young people over 2024 and 2025.
